Essential Monsoon Plant Care: Preventing Root Rot and Fungus

## How to Protect Your Plants During the Monsoon Season
The monsoon brings a welcome respite from the scorching summer heat, and your garden will naturally respond with vibrant new flushes of leaves. However, prolonged dampness, humid stagnant air, and soil waterlogging create ideal breeding conditions for fungal spores and root rot.
### 1. Optimize Pot Drainage Immediately
Inspect the drainage holes at the bottom of every planter. Clay and ceramic pots must allow excess water to escape freely. If water pools on the soil surface for more than 15 minutes, gently aerate the top layer with a hand trowel.
### 2. Move Indoor Plants Away From Continuous Rain
While a brief 30-minute gentle drizzle is wonderful for washing dust off foliage, do not leave indoor plants like Sansevieria or Fiddle Leaf Figs out in heavy storms. Their root systems are easily damaged by soggy soil.
### 3. Incorporate Neem Cake Fertilizer
Sprinkle two tablespoons of **Pure Organic Neem Khali** into the topsoil of each pot. Neem possesses natural bio-fungicidal compounds that protect delicate feeder roots against pythium and phytophthora rot while providing steady organic nitrogen.
### 4. Prune Yellowing Lower Foliage
Improve air circulation around plant stems by trimming dead, decaying, or overcrowded bottom leaves using clean pruning shears.
